Civic Reception

The following photographs and associated sound files are were made of the speeches on the evening of the Civic Reception hosted by South Lanarkshire District in the Corporate Dining Room in the Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton on 22 April 2008 in honour of Hamilton Sounds 25 years of operation in the district.

The speakers were Depute Provost Beith Forrest, South Lanarkshire Council and Jim Stewart, Chairman, Hamilton Sound.

Also present were Councillor Jean McKeown, South Lanarkshire Council and guests including volunteers, listeners, individual supporters and representatives of many of the organisations who have supported Hamilton Sound over the years.

The evening opened with a brief welcome and grace by Depute Provost Forrest and, after a sumptuous buffet and much chat, concluded with a formal address by Depute Provost Forrest and the presentation of a memorial Quaich and a reply by Jim Stewart.
